Despite precedent for the release of similar records in other states, the Mississippi Department of Mental Health is refusing to release reports from inside state-run facilities to an oversight group.

by Isabelle Taft, Mississippi Today‘They have chosen to fight it’: Mental health agency withholds records by Isabelle Taft, Mississippi Today February 21, 2022 Last year, Disability Rights Mississippi – a nonprofit organization that advocates for Mississippians with disabilities – started hearing about new problems at state-run psychiatric facilities.  The facilities were dealing with staffing shortages similar to hospitals around Mississippi.
