She had been taking a picture with her baby and saw that she looked “gaunt” and wondered what was wrong with her.
She explained that she thought she looked “very gaunt” and ended up showing the picture to her partner. “They thought it might have been a side-effect of the epidural and I was just taking painkillers but when I felt the lump, the trip to the GP was quite different.” The Dublin mum needed to do in-patient treatment as she required five days of continuous infusions as there were such large amounts of chemotherapy needed.However, a surgeon from Beaumont Hospital agreed to carry out the surgery as he consulted with a North American sarcoma specialist team.
After her surgery, the mum-of-two shared that she dealt with “unbelievable pain and a very lengthy recovery” and needed to complete rehabilitation for her speech.
