A massive study shows a long-term, substantial rise in risk of cardiovascular disease after a COVID infection

The risk of 20 diseases of the heart and blood vessels is high for at least a year after a COVID-19 diagnosis.Even a mild case of COVID-19 can increase a person’s risk of cardiovascular problems for at least a year after diagnosis, a new studyshows. Researchers found that rates of many conditions, such as heart failure and stroke, were substantially higher in people who had recovered from COVID-19 than in similar people who hadn’t had the disease.

Al-Aly and his colleagues based their research on an extensive health-record database curated by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. The researchers compared more than 150,000 veterans who survived for at least 30 days after contracting COVID-19 with two groups of uninfected people: a group of more than five million people who used the VA medical system during the pandemic, and a similarly sized group that used the system in 2017, before SARS-CoV-2 was circulating.

Not the vaccine then? OK BTW who checks the misinformation you're putting out? Vaccines ARE on experimental release in the UK. As a result of gov and pharma burying data on safe known alternatives to get that release. Pretty criminal really. Fact check that 👍

If ANY data from this 'massive' study comes from government entities, I would be extremely skeptical.

HealthFeedback Cardiovascular disease & clotting due to the COVID vaccine itself, not the C19 influenza. Health Feedback is a group pushing misinformation, not fact checking

HealthFeedback Fuck “Health feedback” censorship

So does the vaccine

Just the lemon next to the pie. Let’s see what happens in a decade.

Daltmann10 Great.. Let's do some more gain of function shit in some f-ing Chinese laboratory.. What could go wrong.........

Did not the CDC say vaccinations will reduce Covid infections only 3% from 96%.

yikes!

And yet Nature isn’t commenting on reports of💉initiated myocarditis because…?

The problem is that such tardy symptoms are hardly linked to past Covid infections. I’m afraid that BA.2 are invading our bodies silently and leaving many time bombs at various organs/tissues (like special force soldiers).

…but I’m sure it won’t affect kids hearts, right CDCDirector POTUS FDASpox? They just have magical pixie dust in their body that will prevent any LongCovid symptoms? DrLeanaWen RoKhanna RepKimSchrier

Almost exactly 2 years after contracting Covid, I became one of these statistics last week 😔

Yes, but don't forget that the same is true for influenza. Large meta-analyses indicate that yearly flu shots reduce cardiac risk almost as much as quitting smoking.

There were smaller studies done in NY and Chicago that also found the same results. As the people exposed to Covid age, there will certainly be significant ramifications.

The term, 'mild' does not appear in the original. The patients were stratified into those not treated as an inpatient, those treated as inpatients, and those in ICU.

Just gonna leave this time capsule here

It rises substantially with every bite of processed food and drink Americans consume every day too..

either substantial numbers showing us clearly it’s hard to deduce this reasoning since a lot of deaths and complications where labeled under covid even when they were. not ?

How nice

time for another shot!
