An Irish choir has carried out a virtual performance for an EU event that announced new initiatives as part of the EU's Beating Cancer Plan.The Sea of Change Choir was formed in 2018 and is made up of women who have survived cancer or lost people close to them with cancer.
"It's not even about our singing, it’s about our energy. It’s the hope and inspiration that we give to people that are going thorough cancer or may have lost people through cancer." Last year, the European Union launched its 'Beating Cancer Plan', which aimed to renew its commitment to cancer prevention, early detection, treatment and quality of life.
"This is particularly striking with regard to estimated cervical cancer incidence rates and mortality rates . The actions announced by the EU include a cancer inequalities registry; a cancer screening call for evidence; joint action on HPV vaccination; and a strengthening by the EU Network of Youth Cancer Survivors of long-term follow-up in cancer care plans at national and regional level.
