A blood test that can detect lung cancer before people get symptoms may save lives by allowing early treatment.
Catching lung cancer early is difficult because we don’t have any cheap, simple ways to screen for it. Chest CT scans can be used to look for tumours in the lungs, but they are expensive, expose people to radiation and can sometimes make false detections.
The 13 individuals who were found to have lung cancer – mostly early stage – were treated by surgically removing their tumours.A benefit of the test is that it takes less than 90 minutes to complete, from taking a person’s blood to running it through a mass spectrometry machine to measure lipid levels and crunching the data, says Wang.
No thanks
'Lipide assoziiert mit dem Tumor'? Frühdiagnose ist die Detektion BEVOR eine erste Tumorzelle überhaupt überleben kann. Der Dr. Sklenar-Bluttest kann das, und nicht nur für Lungenkrebs, für alle Krebsarten.
a matter of days before it is sold 10'000USD in the US
Thanks JPvoteblue
and cuba has had a vaccine against it for a while
Potentially a game changer. Cancer is almost specific to an individual. There are so many variables. A test for early detection would be brilliant.
Amazing stuff. Why can't governments 'attack' cancers like they do Covid :-/
By the time they found my dad's lung cancer, it was too late. I'm so happy to see progress. Early detection is so key
That is great news! But companies and governments will still find a way to charge a small fortune for it.
