CervicalCheck campaigner Lynsey Bennett has said she ‘can’t believe’ she’s still here as she prepares to head to Germany for treatment.

The 33-year-old settled her High Court action over the alleged misinterpretation of her cervical smear in February last year.

On Wednesday, she spoke to Newstalk’s Kieran Cuddihy, and said after being given just months to live, she didn’t think she would make it that far. The young mother-of-two also spoke about how the cancer present in her bowels has been growing in the last few weeks but says she is still hopeful and looking towards other treatments.

Lynsey told the radio host that she will be heading to Germany soon for treatment and that because the cancer continues to grow it is no longer deemed stable.“They say that we can try and stall the growth of your cancer, but you will never know, they just say they are hoping to keep it stable."
