Fintiri unveils contributory health management scheme | The Guardian Nigeria News - Nigeria and World News ⚠️

The Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has unveiled the contributory health management scheme. The governor assured the Nigeria Labour Congress that workers in the state will not be short-changed in running the insurance scheme.

He said that before he took over the mantle of leadership in 2019, the maternal mortality rate was 576 out of 100,000 live births and under-five mortality rate was 132 out of 1000 live births. “I am happy to announce that our administration has paid the required counterpart fund that enables the state to benefit from the Basic Health Care Provision Fund . Thus, 29,043 less privileged people living with disability, pregnant women, children below five years internally Displaced Persons and indigents have been enrolled to access health services without paying at the point of accessing health care services”, he added.

The Executive Secretary, National Health Insurance Scheme Prof. Mohammed Sambo, said that President Muhammadu Buhari is working to ensure that the health of Nigerians is protected through health insurance schemes.
