GPs would be nationalised under plans from the health secretary to make them do more to keep patients out of hospital

They are doing that now. Ever tried to get a face to face appointment with your GP.

That will stop the fiddling. Hope they get rid of the anachronistic “dispensing“ practices too.

Not sure it’s the job of GP’s to prevent patients accessing appropriate secondary care. If the plan is to have community access to investigations and treatment options currently only available in hospital then there will need to be massive investment in primary care.

This is where the government starts to privatise our health care!
