Pamela Barnes says that the first thing that alarmed her that something was wrong with her son Ryan was a lump on his shoulder.She says that she wasn’t aware of this and was instead told that her son had “swelling on his lymph nodes and would grow out of it”.
Pamela told RSVP Live that she is now fighting for her son’s right to access medical cannabis to help his condition. The pair returned to Ireland that same year and Ryan went under the treatment of the oncology department in St. Vincent’s Hospital.During this time, Pamela says her son was put on multiple pharmaceutical drugs and was in hospital for long stays for pain management.
“We have been paying privately for Ryan’s medication but due to financial burden, last year we had to wean him down to half the recommendation prescription.”
