The organization is reporting 18,445 more COVID-19 cases today, up from the previous record set just a day earlier when there were 16,713 infections reported

It says the number of infected Ontarians is an underestimate because recent policy changes have made COVID-19 testing less accessible just as cases linked to the Omicron variant are soaring. The latest figures come days after the province significantly curtailed who is eligible for government-funded COVID-19 testing and come a week after many gathered for Christmas celebrations.

While the Ministry of Health typically releases daily COVID-19 data for the province, it does not publish new figures on holidays like New Year’s Day.

All of these news outlets are responsible of this mess we are in when they spin the narrative

Geez, and I thought NB’ers were the only pro covid peeps! Ontario had them also🥴🙄

if omicron is so mild just have a controlled infection of the population, what could happen? Then everyone would have the same variant and it would die off.

Why are you not reporting on fordnation missing from the news conference as Ontario cases are surging? fordnationfails

Slow news day?

How many colds were reported in 2019 at this time?

nspector4 Nice but not informative. How many hospitalizations and ICU admissions by vaccination status and variant would be helpful. A fella can wish can't he.

So 18,000 colds. How many of those colds resulted in hospitalization? What does our death & hospitalization data look like compared to this time last year? I've seen better reporting in high school newspapers.

Propaganda!

If you don’t post hospitalization numbers, it’s because they aren’t scary enough. Case-demic in full effect.

And this is from before the holidays. Doesn't include backlog. Doesn't include those who couldn't find a test. What a mess.

Ontario reports more than 16,000 new cases of COVID-19 as hospitalizations continue to riseOntario is reporting a record number of COVID-19 cases for the third day in a row, even as public health officials continue to warn that case counts are now a gross underestimate of the true burden of infection given limited access to testing. The lockdowns never worked. The masks never worked. The vaccine passports never worked. The vaccine mandates never worked. The school closures never worked. The mass testing never worked. The skeptics were right the whole bloody time.
