CDC has temporarily extended the CSO through January 15, 2022, with minor modifications. The CSO, as modified, applies tocruise ships previously covered by the CSO may continue to participate voluntarily. Passenger operations have now resumed on cruise ships. As modified, the CSO aligns with current public health considerations and other factors onboard cruise ships.

CDCgov The CDC is hurting consumers even more by straddling the fence. Telling people don’t go on a cruise but not prohibiting it, which means that people are scared to go but can’t collect on event cancellation insurance because the insurance requires a government shutdown.

CDCgov Both entities here need to realize how one sided and ridiculous this is when there are so many other places with far higher positivity rates. If the cruise companies were in charge of things we would probably be out of this pandemic by now.
