The Health director-general said the number of Covid-19 cases detected among flood victims now stood at 418 cases.
He said of the total, 193 infectious diseases had been identified among victims with 94 acute respiratory infections, 67 cases of skin diseases and 30 cases of acute gastroenteritis.Dr Noor Hisham reminded flood victims who have tested positive for Covid-19, or have been identified as a close contact to report their risk status to rescue personnel.
“Always adhere to the standard operating procedures at flood relief centres and avoid gathering with other victims,” he said, adding that flood victims should maintain a high level of personal hygiene and avoid playing in floodwaters. Dr Noor Hisham also urged those categorised as close contact or positive for Covid-19 to practise discipline in undergoing quarantine.
On current Covid-19 statistics, he said all states recorded an infectivity rate of below 1.0 except for Terengganu, which stood at 1.0. The national rate is currently at 0.88.Of the new infections, 60 cases were in Categories 3, 4 and 5.
