Releasing new vaccination data among public servants, the NT government says unvaccinated staff impacted by the government's vaccine mandate will not be paid beyond Tuesday 5pm after they were stood down on Friday afternoon.

The NT government has for the first time revealed how much of its workforce is unvaccinated following the introduction of a wide-ranging vaccine mandate on Saturday. The government says 14 of 1,700 police members are unvaccinatedAs of Saturday, workers in a broad range of settings are subject to the mandate, which could see employees face $5,000 fines if they enter the workplace without having their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

That number could be lower, according to a government spokeswoman, due to a lag in employees' communicating their vaccination status to their managers or agencies. President Paul McCue said the result was "nowhere near the figure that we potentially were concerned about initially"."It certainly looks like the majority of police have complied with that requirement."The Chief Minister's Office said 65 nurses — 39 in the Top End and 26 in Centre — out of 3,000 remained unvaccinated, making for a 98 per cent vaccination rate of at least one dose.

Vaccination drive at multicultural event as SA health authorities aim for 80 per centNine days ahead of South Australia's deadline to significantly relax border restrictions, health authorities are continuing to seize opportunities to boost vaccination rates. Except, it's not '80%', is it. It's '60%', or '80% of the eligible population'. Get it right, ABC. The ACTUAL NUMBERS of vaccinated is an important clue to what is likely to happen next, with the virus spreading through school populations and to vulnerable vaccinated adults. As if proof were needed, the various cultural communities in South Australia have proven themselves again & again in the past two years as amazing assets in Public Health management. We owe them a debt of gratitude. Becoming dependent on medicine is probably a bad idea, it seems like a good idea but objectively humans have evolved for a very long time, in that time we have endured nearly every possible scenario that can possibly be survived. I'd suggest human genetics is already equipped.
