NSW Health will stop providing regional COVID-19 case locations, bringing the rest of the state into line with Greater Sydney, as NSW recorded 195 new local cases of COVID-19 on Sunday | Laura_R_Chung

One man has died from COVID-19 in the Blue Mountains as NSW recorded 195 new local cases on Sunday.

Moree mayor Katrina Humphries said the decision to stop publishing regional case locations was “disappointing” as rural and regional towns were not out of the woods.“This change has already been made for case locations in Greater Sydney, including the Central Coast, Wollongong and Shellharbour, and the Nepean Blue Mountains,” its statement said.

But Moree mayor Katrina Humphries said the decision was “very disappointing”. Her regional town in northern NSW has recorded 149 cases in“We’ve just been through the issues around a lack of location advice. It puts fear into people and I really think, just because the big urban areas are out of the woods, it doesn’t mean rural regional areas are,” Ms Humphries said.
