MANILA, Philippines — Another 2,376 individuals have tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19, the Department of Health reported on Friday. According to DOH, there are now 37,377 active cases out of the 2,797,986 confirmed cases of the disease in the country. Data from the department showed that 69 percent of the active cases are mild, 5.4 percent are asymptomatic, 13.94 percent are moderate, 8.2 percent are severe, and 3.5 percent are critical.Aside from more active infections, the health agency also logged 2,109 additional recoveries and 260 more deaths. In total, 2,716,524 patients have already recovered while 44,085 have died.

The DOH said 6.5 percent of 44,182 individuals tested were found positive for the virus on Wednesday.
