Malaysia recorded another 5,854 Covid19 cases on Oct 30, according to the Health Ministry. Read more at

In a Twitter post, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said cumulatively, the country had recorded 2,466,663 Covid-19 cases since the pandemic began.

Earlier, the Health Ministry had said through its CovidNow portal that a total of 63 new Covid-19 fatalities were recorded on Friday , bringing the cumulative death toll to 28,832.The number of active cases currently stands at 70,058 cases, with 77.2% or 54,090 being patients with mild infections who are undergoing home quarantine.

Another 9,453 or 13.5% patients are those under isolation at low-risk quarantine centres while the number of those being hospitalised are 5,948 or 8.5%. There are currently 267 patients in intensive care units who do not require ventilator support, while another 300 are on ventilators.
