Chief Health Officer Professor Brett Sutton and Health Minister Martin Foley will provide a COVID-19 update from 11am.

Victoria has recorded 1,466 new local COVID-19 cases along with eight deaths in the 24 hours to midnight, the Department of Health announced on Tuesday.More information on the cases and deaths will be provided at Tuesday morning's daily press conference.

Vaccination uptake has been steady over the past five days with more than 80,000 residents coming forward each day for a COVID-19 vaccine.The state is expected to emerge from lockdown around October 26 after the 70 per cent vaccination threshold is met.
