The Philippines has started its COVID-19 inoculation of the general population seven months after the country officially started its vaccine rollout, the DOH said. | DFernandezINQ

However, Vergeire noted that the vaccination program should prioritize senior citizens and persons with comorbidities as they are vulnerable to the severe symptoms of COVID-19.

“Tayo po ay patuloy na nananawagan sa ating mga A2 at A3 na patuloy po tayong magpabakuna. Ito po ay isa sa magiging proteksyon niyo laban sa malubhang sakit at pagkakamatay,” Vergeire said. In a Viber message, Vergeire mentioned that the guidelines are based on the resolution of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases.
