Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant held NSW's coronavirus update on Friday amid reports she did not endorse changes to the state's reopening roadmap because she was not in attendance at Thursday's press conference.

She also reminded residents to take a cautious approach come"freedom day".

The 11 deaths reported on Friday include two women and nine men. Two were in their 50s, one was in their 60s, four were in their 70s and four were in their 80s. A man in his 80s was a resident at Allity Beechwood Aged Care Facility, where he contracted the virus. It is the fourth death linked to an outbreak at this facility.

Of the 646 local cases, 136 are from South Western Sydney Local Health District , 119 are from Western Sydney LHD, 97 are from Hunter New England LHD, 52 are from Sydney LHD, 48 are from Illawarra Shoalhaven LHD and 42 are from South Eastern Sydney LHD.
