Victorian Health Minister Martin Foley has dismissed Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s"shakedown politics" remark as the Queensland government continues to demand federal support for their overwhelmed hospital system.

Mr Foley spoke out against Mr Morrison’s comments during Wednesday’s coronavirus update, stating"it's actually partnership politics" - not"shakedown politics".

In her own COVID-19 press conference on Wednesday, Ms Palaszczuk referred to a joint letter from state and territory health ministers addressed to Health Minister Greg Hunt, which asks for"immediate additional Commonwealth funding".
