SINGAPORE — More children have become infected with Covid-19 as a result of the Delta variant, which is the dominant Covid-19 variant that is causing infections in the community here now, the Ministry of Health’s (MOH) director of medical services Kenneth Mak said on Friday (Sept 10).

Associate Professor Kenneth Mak said that Singapore must be prepared for the possibility that children could get very sick, or die, from the disease as community cases rise here.

To what extent is 'acceptable' level of very sick/dead children? Did we have a level that was acceptable amongst the old? Or the middle-aged? Did we not do our best to cover adults even if we knew some would still fall through? What is the change in logic now? Voiceless kids?😡

But why should we '... be prepared for the possibility that children who have Covid-19 here could get very sick or die, too...' Why can't we hang on a bit longer at a slower pace until kids below 12 at least have that choice of a vaccine

Will the virus remains in the child, or may cause any “harm” during his grow up? Who knows?

Please remember the old adage that lack of evidence is not evidence of absence. We should not assume that mild or no symptoms amongst children is granted. This can change very quickly.
