Premier Gladys Berejiklian says fully vaccinated citizens may be subject to restrictions even after the 70 per cent vaccine threshold is reached as NSW pursues a “safe” and “staggered” reopening.

The NSW government unveiled its roadmap to freedom at Thursday’s COVID-19 press conference - which Ms Berejiklian said was “conditional” on transmission rates in the community remaining low.

“It doesn’t mean you can’t still go and do the things you want to do but your mobility will be restricted within a particular distance and that could happen at any stage”. She added any towns or cities outside of Greater Sydney may also be subject to those rules even if they have not experienced any COVID-19 outbreaks.

Ms Berejiklian warned NSW was “not out of the woods yet” as she said living with the virus required a “cautious and staged reopening once you get to those high levels of vaccination in your adult population”.
