Transport Minister Eamon Ryan has confirmed that the two metre social distancing rule will be relaxed.
Speaking on his way into Cabinet, he told the Irish Mirror: “I think all the rules are going to be relaxed."It was always legislation done to be short-term so yes we’re going towards removing all restrictions but replacing it with personal responsibility. “In wearing our masks, keeping our distance and all of the basic public health measures that worked over the last two years., whether it is sports or entertainment.Speaking on his way into Cabinet, Health Minister Stephen Donnelly said “we have a realistic plan” for reopening.
Although he said we still have the highest Covid-19 rates right now in the EU and “really what we have got to do is find a way to reopen that’s sustainable, realistic and safe.”Minister Donnelly also said he is working with departments about the sunset clause for mandatory hotel quarantine which is due to lapse on October 31.Music at weddings is allowed from next Monday under proposals gone to Cabinet.
