In last spring’s budget the Liberals made good on a 2019 campaign promise to hike the Old Age Pension by 10 per cent for seniors over the age of 75, but that doesn’t kick in until next year.
A one-time payment of $500 was sent earlier this month to seniors over 75 who qualify for the pension. As Trudeau nears the end of the second week of the campaign the Liberals are facing more adversity than they expected from voters, amid the crisis in Afghanistan and ongoing anxiety about the fourth wave of COVID-19.

Translation: Junior plans to increase taxes on middle income Canadians and give it to seniors who didn’t adequately prepare for their retirement.

Pretty soon all pensioners will be low income because of runaway inflation and taxes . Retirees need to vote wisely .

If there is an increase to the Old Age Security (OAS) and/or the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS), that means that the provincial Trillium Benefit (OTB) or the Guaranteed Annual Income System (GAINS) will be affected. Don’t be fooled. All pensions/supplements are income based.
Do it now instead of a promise! Seniors need it now!
CUE Erin the TOOL and the CON media trotting out Seniors complaining that THEY don’t want more money…..for a multitude of reasons, just like the SUN did not long ago!!!
At the same time as punishing seniors who were low income who collected CERB. How does any promise sound sincere when you had a mandate and instead called an election.
