‘We need the best brains’, Dr Noor Hisham says in pushing greater investment in Malaysia’s public health

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 14 — Malaysia needs to prioritise the development of its public health experts to prepare the country for future pandemics, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said today.

“I think in all ministries we should have public health experts. And we are short of public health experts compared to five years ago He said the Covid-19 variants have “disrupted” the planning his ministry’s plans to flatten the curve through the third movement control order that began on May 12 and was supposed to end on June 7.

I have met many talented Malaysian doctors right here in Singapore .

DGHisham Then let there be true meritocracy instead of you-know-who-and-what

True

Malaysia only selects from 60-70% of its population and that too based on 'knows who' rather than 'knows what'. That is why the gap to postage stamp country in the south increases by the second.

Moodin loosing power,,now he is changing his tune,,to keep his job🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Isn’t Adham Baba the smartest man in the country?

I mean....your Menteri Air Suam

ohh yeah All just saying. You cant even keep young Doctors as permanent staff of KKMPutrajaya & talking of investments. Nowadays all professionals turning into politicians. HartalDoktorKontrak bharianmy

the best brain is already in PM's office, we hv 2 PM's health advisors not one

But KKM leads by the KKM Minister with poor brain..

Dear DG. Instead of going for best brain..go for well experienced and committed Malaysians.

I think we just need a normal brain is good enough to curb, just follow other successful countries and doing what is right. The brainless took us malaysia where we are today.

DG & related policymakers should, by now, be able to pinpoint the root causes of all the problems he identified - it is an open secret. They should take responsibility for their refusal to acknowledge & tackle these long-standing issues.

So compensate and treat the staff well lah, u shouldn't expect people will stick around if otherwise

Overseas. Bye bye bye.

DGHisham you have failed us. 😢

You listen to them, they don’t listen to you.

Yes. DSAI team have it. Not the current PM din jamban.

Malaysia’s best brains quit some time ago, now brain drain!

Does he know that Singapore government has been buying over the bonds for young medical students even before they graduate for years with the help of the insiders in the universities?

What you trying to highlight here sir....

Do we have the best brains in Malaysia? 🤪🤪

The reality is, the best brains will either look for the best opportunity to grow (such as at WHO where scope is worldwide) or to the hughest bidder (such as pharmaceutical companies). We have no choice but to tap from these

It would be a good idea to disseminate more information eg % of positive cases who were vaccinated dose1 or dose2, how many progress to category 3,4,5. This will encourage vaccination...

Start with the right Minister first. Then begin from that current pool of contract doctors.... fight for them, support them to be treated better. They expected you to do so, since you're supposed to be one of them, not one of the politikus, but you have been disappointing them.

We knew that. But did you gather the best brains to formulate our strategies in fighting Covid19? I don't think so. A lot of health experts had given their views on how the gov and you could better manage the pandemic, but they were ignored.

First let the best get places in universities first la.

back to reality.

Indeed! We need to try & invest in our future leaders too. Why we need to depends on other countries to help every time? We might be the best vaccines creator too.

Dear DG You are saying what we already know. The harsh reality is meritocracy is non existent for obvious reasons. And until we truly subscribe to it... favouritism, nepotism and every type of ism will continue to suffocate this country of its talent

But, in this country, the best brains are employed under contract and made to suffer the indignation of begging the government to be absorbed into the Civil Service, to pursue specialist training, housing loan and other perks.

We hv a lot- Dari berbagai bangsa n agama - that wants to help but This RACIST GOVT NEVER GAVE THEM A CHANCE SO THEY MIGRATED WHERE THEIR EXPERTISE WLD BE APPRECIATED. SO NOW U R LEFT W PPL U HV BRAINS LIKE DR SPANISH FLY N WARM WATER! ARENT U PROUD OF YOURSELF WITH UR CHOICES!

Meaning you admit we ain't having any at the moment? 😏🤔

Well when you practice race politics & don’t provide fair opportunities across ALL rakyat, ‘the best brains’ goes somewhere where they are treasured

How can you have The Best when one practices non meritocracy governance

We need u resign!

Not only the best brains but the brains that will receive Hidayah and Taufik from Allah. Not just Pak Turut of WHO and FDA...

U got Adham baba? Use his.....

Buat hartal polis siasat..nak best brain tp layan dorang gitu..baik dorang keje kat UK,UAE,Qatar

AiraPut3ri Kutuk adham baba ke tu?

No. We need more good heart. Best brain with evil heart will end up suck up to the government.
