The Food Safety Authority of Ireland has issued a recall of ice-cream products sold by two different brands due to the presence of an unauthorised pesticide.
This pesticide was identified in the batch of food additive locust bean gum used in the production of those ice-creams. However, ethylene oxide is a pesticide that is not permitted for use in foods sold in the EU but is approved for use by other countries outside the EU. The Nestle Milkybar Mini Multipack ice-creams are sold in a box of six. The batch code for the affected products is MI1099 and the best before date is 04.2023.
