A total of 1,828 more people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Ireland, while 198 patients are currently being treated in hospitals around the country.It comes after Dr Tony Holohan issued a message to the nation encouraging anyone still waiting on their vaccine to attend a walk-in centre this weekend.
And Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan has urged anyone who has not yet been vaccinated to attend one of the walk-in centres across the country this weekend. "The COVID-19 vaccination programme shows not only the best of scientific endeavour, but also commendable solidarity in those who come forward to receive a vaccine for the good of their wider community.
Meanwhile Deputy CMO Dr Glynn also said that "the outcome over the coming days is uncertain" due to the high levels of disease and the potential impact that the recent August Bank Holiday could have on case numbers and referral patterns.
