How did the Delta variant get here? Here's a timeline of how this highly contagious virus entered the Philippines and, later, Cebu even with the travel restrictions and border controls imposed by the government.

Some 116 Delta cases are detected, 95 of which are local cases found in seven regions: NCR , Central Visayas , Calabarzon , Davao Region , Zamboanga Peninsula , Cagayan Valley and Ilocos Region . All cases are tagged as recovered.The total Delta variant cases in the country is now 331, with nine deaths and 11 active cases..

The Department of Health says the Delta variant has now been detected in all of the NCR or Metro Manila’s 16 cities and one municipality.
