A new report has ranked Canada's health system second last, ahead of the United States, when comparing 11 high-income countries.

TORONTO -- A new report has ranked Canada's health system second last, ahead of the United States, among high-income countries., ranked 11 high-income countries on key health-system measures, including equity, access to care, affordability, health-care outcomes, and administrative efficiency.

In addition to its overall ranking, the study noted that the U.S. ranks last on access to care, administrative efficiency, equity, and health-care outcomes, but second for preventative care processes, such as screenings and vaccinations. "Compared to the other countries, the United States and Canada had larger income-related inequities in patient reported experiences," the study noted.

Compared to other countries, the report found that Canada spends less on social programs, such as early childhood education, parental leave, and income supports for single parents, which impact health-care services.

EvanMcFatridge ' ranked by an expert advisory panel ' Of course, these are GoodGuy experts...

Socist medician what do u expect

NOT surprising. Medical in BC - SUCKS!

Look at who is running it in this country and the unethical, unlawful and harmful choices they made and imposed on Canadians in the past 16 months.

No surprise here

may be to stay in the list...... there's lots of important steps need to be taken..... otherwise we will be missing for the list..... hopes our elected leaders will try to improve it......

Of course, we've had neoliberal LibCon governments almost everywhere who have done nothing but slash and burn all public services especially healthcare

Who are the experts who paid them what biases do they have I notice Russia China Japan and several other countries are off the list It seems rather selective I suspect they were told by WHO what countries to include and exclude That’s why news outlets need to name the experts

And you find this surprising HOW

So ninth in the world? Not much of a headline.

The title to this article is very misleading. Thank you for inserting the link so that we can read the results first hand.

The worst possible way of saying “top ten”

Who's answering the questions?

This will make provincial premiers happy. They seem to have been working toward this with their underfunding of health care.

Glad they tax the shit out of us for this health care

Pick a different 11 countries instead

Hmmmm finally the truth about Healthcare in Canada!! It sucks.

Scrap allowing provincial governments managerial control over their healthcare systems. fordnation shouldn't be left in control of a small child much less a healthcare system!

No surprise here. It has been failing for years despite all the outcry’s.

Ranked second in strength, which is nice. There’s still the issue that’s there’s one bed for 2.5 Canadians and with the amount of inflation and wages not increasing with it (decreasing in some provinces) how long do we expect we will continue to be a contender?

Hmmmm....but would that make it top 10 in the world? Headlines really seem to skew things...

That’s why folks need to take the vaccine. Stop stressing an already stressed system

US is trash, having free health care is better because below you is US bankrupt citizens cant afford monthly payments of $1000 a month or more depending on what tier they want.

And here we are crashing the economy for a deplorable system

Privatise the health system.

CTV dead last in responsible reporting.

This is not surprising

But we are told repeatedly that it is the best in the world....

Or it’s 10 in the world. Good job media at always turning a positive into a negative.

Well duh. It's free but that's comes with wholes.

That's what you get with layoffs, cuts, and underbudget spending during a pandemic.

With the superiority complex that many Canadians seem to have, you'd think that our health care system was the best in the world, when on reality it's only marginally better than the US'.

Well the govts did cut health care and education. So what did you expect would happen that we would be too 5. C’mon man.
