The impact of Covid-19 on the economy and public health will have a telling effect on the next general election.This is the view shared by political scientist Dr Wong Chin Huat, who believes that the damage wreaked by the pandemic will weigh heavily on people’s minds when they cast their ballots.that nonetheless, race and religion, the deciding factors traditionally, will continue to feature prominently.
He said health and economic issues usually feature more prominently among urban voters and if the Undi18 strategy is implemented, it would most likely be felt in urban constituencies. “It may also turn out to be messy and ugly, which will put the nation at risk again if there is another deadly variant of Covid-19 or if there is a new pandemic.”Dr Sivamurugan Pandian said the current unprecedented situation offers an opportunity for independent candidates to shine.
Really The only way UMNO never gets into power is if these a majority of Malay voters don’t vote for them. But as usual they will play their race card and always get elected. Come on, it will never change unless the young ones vote differently from their parents
