PH logs 5,479 new Covid-19 cases

The country logged 5,479 new coronavirus disease cases on Sunday, bringing the total to 1.548 million, 54,262 of which are active, the Department of Health said.Of the active cases, 93.4 percent were mild or asymptomatic.

The department reported 5,573 new recoveries for a total of 1.467 million.Meanwhile, the death toll climbed to 27,224 with 93 new fatalities.The occupancy rate of intensive care units in the National Capital Region is at 46 percent while isolation and ward beds are at 41 and 37 percent, respectively.
