PETALING JAYA: Malaysia has recorded 13,034 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the nation’s cumulative total to 964,918.Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were also 8,436 recoveries, bringing the nationwide total to 815,293.

“There are 938 patients in intensive care units, with 459 requiring ventilation support,” he said in a statement yesterday.

He added that Selangor recorded the highest number of Covid-19 infections with 6,049 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur , Johor and Negri Sembilan .“Twenty-one of the new clusters are workplace clusters while seven are community clusters, two are education institute clusters and the remaining two are high-risk group clusters,” Dr Noor Hisham said, adding that the number of active Covid-19 cases were 142,051.

He said that of the 13,034 cases recorded yesterday, 13 were category five , 72 belonged to category four , 124 were category three , 5,646 were category two and 7,179 were category one . “Of the 134 deaths recorded today, 39 were in Selangor, followed by Kuala Lumpur , Negri Sembilan , Johor , Perak , Melaka , Pahang , Kedah , Penang , Terengganu , Labuan and one case in Sabah,” he said.
