Pakatan Harapan’s health committee said there needed to be easier and greater access to telehealth services for counselling or psychotherapy and medication.

The committee said there needs to be easier and greater access to telehealth services for counselling or psychotherapy and medication. The committee said these health experts should also be empowered to train more members of the public on the fundamentals of mental health first aid in order to reach a greater segment of the population as well as increase “mental health gatekeepers”, or counsellors, in every community.

The committee said this in turn would then provide space for survivors to come forward for treatment and the stigma associated with mental illness could be addressed more holistically.
