Former Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has had some strong words to say this afternoon about the state of Australia’s vaccine rollout.
“There has never been in my recollection, an issue of global importance on which Australia is so at odds with its closest friends and allies than this ... we are really, really out of step,” he said. “The answer is, yes, he obviously did. But what I don’t understand is that the whole purpose of a cabinet is solidarity,” he said.
He said vaccine hesitancy was a problem at all time, “but it is as if governments are doing their upmost [to make it worse] with all their disagreements and confusion.
