Labuan MP urges Sabah to let its critically ill patients to enter mainland

LABUAN, June 19 — Labuan Member of Parliament Datuk Rozman Isli has requested the Sabah government to consider allowing seriously ill patients from the duty-free island here to enter the mainland to seek urgent medical treatment at the Kota Kinabalu Queen Elizabeth Hospital or private hospitals.

“I have requested the Sabah government to consider giving a relaxation on the ongoing interstate travel restriction for critical patients here to seek immediate treatment at the hospitals in Sabah mainland,” he told Bernama today. “These seriously ill patients, despite having referrals had not been allowed to pass through the Menumbok ferry terminal but asked to return to Labuan.
