Breaking: NSW records two locally acquired cases of coronavirus on Saturday

“The weapon we have to defeat this virus that keeps coming back is to keep making sure you get tested and making sure you use the QR codes”, he said.

He said there was no need for those who did not come into direct contact with a positive case to isolate after testing but they should monitor for symptoms. More than 1000 people are in isolation as NSW Heath authorities attempt to contain a highly transmissible COVID-19 variant spreading in Sydney’s East.

Anyone who attended the gaming room of the Tea Gardens Hotel, Bondi Junction between 5pm and 5.15pm on June 13 is considered a close contact and must immediately get tested and self-isolate for 14 days regardless of the result. Those elsewhere in the venue at that time are casual contacts and must get tested and self-isolate until they get a negative result.

Earlier on Friday night, NSW Health updated its advice for Myer and David Jones at Bondi Junction. People who visited level 2 or 4 of Myer last Saturday from 11.15am to 11.50am, or level 1 of David Jones from 10.55am to 11.15am, are now considered close contacts and must call NSW Health on 1800 943 553 before getting tested and self-isolating for 14 days.
