JOHOR BARU: The Low-Risk Covid-19 Quarantine and Treatment Centre (PKRC) at the Permai Hospital in Jalan Tampoi here will only house women, expectant mothers and children below 12 years old.

As such, Johor Baru district officer Datuk Abdul Rahman Salleh said the centre – which can accommodate up to 585 people – is expected to give more comfort to patients as mothers and their young children, who previously had to be separated, are now placed together.

“This is our second public PKRC after the Pasir Gudang City Council Indoor Stadium,” he told reporters after visiting the PKRC on Monday. Only one building at the Permai Hospital, namely Olive B, is being used as a PKRC and would accommodate patients in categories one and two, namely the asymptomatic or those with mild symptoms.
