It comes after Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan slammed scenes of people gathering across the city over the weekend

Gardai were forced to clear large crowds of revellers once again on Sunday as people swarmed Dublin city in the hot weather.Public order units could be seen clearing crowds at Stephen's Green and on St William Street where large crowds had congregated many of whom were enjoying takeaway drinks over the weekend.

"Enormous crowds- like a major open air party. This is what we do not need when we have made so much progress." He said: "We've had mixed results with them in the past unfortunately, the one in Kildare and the midlands worked, others didn't really.However, the Tanaiste added that "hopefully we won't have to."
