Regional Victorians will benefit from a massive boost in mental health services and businesses in the bush will get a tax cut as part of the Victorian government's state budget.$700 million in mental health funding has been promised to young people living outside MelbourneBut spending on hospitals and schools in the regions will have to wait a few years, with most of the new regional spending starting from 2023, as the state government prioritises Melbourne's growth suburbs.

This includes eight new mental health and wellbeing centres in regional Victoria, out of the 22 new clinics across the state worth $954 million. The government has also promised $700 million for mental health services specifically for young people who live outside Melbourne. Other regional hospitals desperate for large investments missed out, with the promise they will get upgrades in two to three years.
