Aswath Chavittupara and Prasitha Sasidharan were given a copy of the report into thir daughter's death this morning. It found the seven-year-old had succumbed to an infection related to group A streptococcus, something Mr Cook said was associated with "very poor health outcomes and high mortality". "It is vital that we learn what happened at Perth Children's Hospital, and continue to improve the care provided to the children and young people of Western Australia," Mr Cook said.
Sadly, I expect people would experience similiar situations in other States. Having waited in Emergency with my son for 6 hours we were called into another waiting room with an estimated wait time of 3 to 4 hours. For all the upgrades etc they just can’t meet the demand.
