Philippines' Department of Health said they've succeeded in reducing malaria transmission by 87 percent from 48,569 in 2003 to 6,120 cases in 2020.

According to the Philippines' Department of Health , the country has succeeded in reducing malaria transmission by 87 percent from 48,569 in 2003 to 6,120 cases in 2020.

"A shrinking geographic extent of malaria, with 60 provinces officially declared as malaria-free," said the DOH, adding that an additional 19 provinces also reached"the malaria elimination phase with zero local transmission, waiting to be assessed and declared malaria-free provinces."
