Despite the deluge of coronavirus disease 2019 patients seeking hospital care, the Department of Health on Saturday, April 3, 2021, said all its 17 hospitals in Metro Manila are operational, although eight have requested the setting up of modular tents to accommodate more patients.

Sean Herbert Velchez, president of the hospital’s employees union, said 110 out of 180 health workers swabbed on March 30 yielded positive results. The DOH also said it has facilitated the following extensions: 44-bed modular hospital at Tala, 44-bed modular hospital at LCP and the 110-bed capacity off-site modular extension of JRRMC at QI.
