According to the health agency, the 31,708 active cases represent 5.5 percent of the recorded nationwide 578,381 Covid-19 infections as of March 1.It also said that most patients or 89.3 percent who were categorized under active cases have shown only mild symptoms while 5.0 percent were asymptomatic. It further noted that 2.3 percent of active cases manifested severe symptoms as 2.5 percent were in critical condition.
DOH also said the country posted 86 coronavirus-positive individuals who were able to recover from the respiratory illness as well as four new fatalities, increasing total recovered patients and deaths to 534,351 and 12,094, respectively.
