Perak recorded 148 new Covid19 infections on Monday after a surge of over 1,000 cases on Sunday, while the nation recorded 2,192 new infections. Read more at

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the teenager's body was brought to Hospital Sultan Ismail in Johor Baru, and he was not found to have any underlying medical condition.

Another young fatality was a 25-year old Malaysian male in Pahang, who suffered from mediastinal tumour. The other fatalities involved Malaysians aged 50 and above, and who suffered from comorbidities such as diabetes and high blood pressure.Selangor saw 910 new infections, while Kuala Lumpur and Sarawak recorded 303 and 221 new cases, respectively.Malaysia also discharged 3,414 Covid-19 patients nationwide, which means 252,623 people have recovered.Currently, 199 patients are in intensive care, with 91 requiring ventilator support.
