MANILA — Sinovac’s COVID-19 vaccine is not recommended for health workers, the Food and Drug Administration said Monday as it announced the approval of the product for emergency use in the Philippines.
Domingo said that Phase III clinical trials done in different countries showed that Sinovac's vaccine has an efficacy rate of 65.3% based on trials in Indonesia, and up to 91.2% based on trials done in Turkey. The trials only involve adults aged 18 to 59 years. Before the FDA approval of Sinovac, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said that the firm's vaccine will most likely be the first to arrive in the Philippines this month.
The delivery of the said supply is expected to be delayed, however, following China's decision to await first the FDA's issuance of an emergency use authorization . “Siguro, kinakailangan nilang baguhin muna iyong ating list of priorities,” he said in a separate briefing. The DOH has yet to respond to questions on whether it will follow the FDA’s recommendation and what will happen if Sinovac’s vaccines arrive first in the country.
Magaling! Kayong mga dr, govt officials na gumigiit safe ang Sinovac sa population other than healthcare workers, 65 y/o and with comorbidity —you belong to these groups kaya lakas loob nyo ipaturok sa iba!

Give pfizer or astra zeneca til health workers they deserved it. They have been battling covid from the very beginning. Its high time you take care of then and give then what they deserved.

In the market right now no one of vaccine include Healthcare worker In trial , only this vaccine show real effective in very mind symptoms , which other vaccine never include it . As i Healthcare worker i want to receive this vaccine than others.

Ang hirap naman i-spin nito. Yung mga HCWs walang vaccine then pag may nagkasakit sa population na na-vaccinate ng Sinovac (since yun lang ang available) and na-expose sila, wala pa rin sila protection. Ang strange ng case sa Pilipinas.
What? So anong sense? Hindi ba tao rin lang ang mga karaniwang Pilipino?
