The Pfizer vaccine is the first to be rolled out in Australia, but it poses significant storage challenges – and with the liquid gold in short supply, healthcare providers are loath to waste any doses.

The vaccines will be prepared in the pharmacy department on the lower ground floor, where staff will “reconstitute” the vaccine by adding saline to vials, draw 0.3 millilitres into the syringes and then take them up to the vaccination clinic on the ground floor for nurses to administer jabs.

So how many people got vaccinated with the PM today? 3? Does that mean doses wasted? Just wondering about the details? Anyone?

Then why don’t we only inject the most vulnerable and health care workers? The PM is in none of those categories?

We are throwing away the 6th dose in EACH vial though, because we don’t have the correct syringes to extract it, and per NSWCHO won’t be available until later in the year. As 1/6 of all doses, that’s 23,000 chucked away from the first batch! COVID19Aus

They don’t want to waste it.....then why give it to Morrison? He’s not a frontline worker. What a bloody waste 🤬

Now it's been booed at the tennis I think they'll be running scared.

Happy to wait with it still being in trial stage
