NSW Police Minister David Elliott told Sky News despite only five arrests being made surrounding the Australia Day protests, police had to be redeployed to a beach party breaching COVID rules in Lilli Pilli.

Mr Elliott said as far as behaviour is concerned, NSW Police have had no real criticisms of the Australia Day protesters and beachgoers despite the arrests. He said the police used discretion where required at the rallies and “made arrangements” with protesters for them not to march and instead disperse.

“Some people were given infringement notices for breaching the public health orders others for resisting police and getting in the way of police operations,” The police minister said. The police had to then be redeployed to Lilli Pilli after a group of people “decided to have a beach party”. “The beach party this afternoon was clearly in breach of what we believe to be reasonable numbers on the foreshore.

The rules. When the rules become the Telos and the Telos is no longer the harm the rules purportedly ameliorated. Bad.

So redeploy to get the Aussie beach party?, same offences as the protest but less media grief. Some may call that racist.

Pathetic! Should have arrested the unAustralian protestors
