Mr Hancock claimed that apart from the UAE and Israel, the UK has the fastest vaccine rollout in the world. He notes that even though medical reasons are listed, he sees"little reason" for people to go abroad for care with the NHS here. The health secretary does not give a definitive answer for the number of cases of these variants found in the UK, saying he already set this out yesterday. He adds that those identified as having these variants have"enhanced contact tracing" - meaning there are more checks that people are self-isolating and they get more support.
