The J&L Beef outbreak in Surrey was reported on Oct. 18, though the first positive COVID-19 test on a worker occurred on Oct. 8 At its peak, there were 13 employees at the meat processing facility who became infected.
The outbreak at Valhalla Distribution/MSJ Distribution in Delta was declared on Oct. 3, though the first case was reported on Sept., 30. At its peak 23 workers were infected.There are six active outbreaks in the Fraser Health region; at Hanaya Japanese Restaurant in Surrey Atrack Restaurant in Port Moody Saint St.
Over the weekend, there were school exposures reported at Highlands Elementary Coquitlam Alternative Basic Education, John Oliver Secondary Cloverdale Catholic School and Burnaby Secondary school. Since the first case of COVID-19 was reported in late January, there have been 552 cases reported in children under age 10 and 1,043 cases in people aged 10-19. There have been 14,318 cases reported as of Oct. 30.
