The drug, which California-based Gilead Sciences Inc. is calling Veklury, cut the time to recovery by five days -- from 15 days to 10 on average -- in a large study led by the U.S. National Institutes of Health.
It had been authorized for use on an emergency basis since spring, and now has become the first drug to win full U.S. approval for treating COVID-19. Gilead says Veklury is approved for people at least 12 years old and weighing at least 88 pounds who need hospitalization for their coronavirus infection. It works by inhibiting a substance the virus uses to make copies of itself. The Associated Press Health and Science Department receives support from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute's Department of Science Education. Buckleys! Tastes awfull, but it works!
Which was proven to be useless
After the WHO already concluded a large study demonstrating Remdesivir is ineffective at treating the corona virus? Why all this bs? I will presume a completely undeserved rise in Gilead stock tomorrow which is main reason for this nonsensical announcement!
I thought the WHO said it didn’t work...
Remember when trump said he took it? You said it was ineffective and dangerous.
Shame on the MSM for calling Donald Trump a liar. I am beginning to think he tells the TRUTH.
Where are all the MSM people that were making fun of Trump endorsing it about ten days ago? Hmmm?
This is the second approval, for normal people. It got approval for special people months ago.
